Common issues I work with

  • A certain amount of anxiety is actually adaptive, but it becomes an issue when it interferes with your day-to-day life. This is a common challenge, often showing up with racing thoughts, panic attacks, avoidance, or even health issues like digestive issues and headaches.

  • Depression is described as a pattern of illness due to low mood, low enjoyment in life, difficulty with eating or sleeping, feelings of guilt, low energy, trouble concentrating, and thoughts about death.

  • There are many different types of eating disorders. Eating disorders are often characterized by difficulty eating, overeating or binge-eating, avoidance of certain foods, or purging through various means. Often, one or more of these behaviors is paired with a distortion or difficulty with body image.

  • Negative body image is characterized by being overly focused on comparing your size, shape, or appearance to unrealistic ideals. This can lead to the development of negative self-talk, low self-esteem, or disordered eating patterns.

  • Life can be really stressful, and sometimes an event happens that causes more stress or fear than we are able to cope with. This can result in trauma. This can show up as reliving the event over and over, anxiety, avoidance, nightmares, and negative thinking.

Therapeutic Treatment

  • Art Therapy

Art therapy is a therapeutic modality that emphasizes the use of creativity and art-making to explore, express, process, and plan. Often art therapy sessions include creating art or talking about artwork that you have made.

  • Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy emphasizes that each person has the ability to create positive change in their life. A therapist’s job is to support their client with empathy and understanding. You are the expert on you, and with us working together, perhaps we can uncover and focus attention on your individual strengths.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that combines the core strategies of mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. DBT offers a lot of specific coping skills and strategies.
